Haiti Trip update: July 20 Happy to report from Haiti, our SantéBuses are on the road and are great vehicles. The Suburbans get everywhere even though they are two-wheel drive. There has been much rain recently and climbing dirt paths is not an issue. The logo on the bus seems to bring a smile from all that see it.

Traveling with a team of Felician nuns in one of the 'Burbans is the president of Madonna College. They will be starting several programs here in Haiti, and we can be proud at SanteBus that we opened the doors. It's magical, in a way, how it is all falling into place. read more

The newest addition to the SantéBus fleet: a donated mobile medical clinic

A project of the Healing Haiti Fund, SantéBus brings mobile medical clinics to the regions of Haiti most in need of help. SantéBus, which is French for “Health bus”, gives new life to retired American school buses.

Haiti Trip May 27 - June 3 Dr. Bonnet, accompanied by Pope John Guidance Counselors Mary Cooper and Mary Day and Physician's Assistant students Arielle Bonnet and Andrea Cardine, travelled to the J/P HRO clinic at the tent city in Petionville, Frère Franklin Armand and the Little Brothers and Sisters of the Incarnation in Hinche, Double Harvest Farm on The Plaine du Cul-de-Sac, Christianville in Gressier, and Jean-Yvon Kernizan's new Pou Solèy Leve school above Port-au-Prince.

The First of the SantéBus Fleet has Arrived in Haiti

The first three vehicles have arrived in Saint-Marc, Haiti, delivered by the Ro/Ro ship Grey Shark .

The SantéBus Fleet has launched! On March 17 the Healing Haiti Fund watched proudly as it's first three vehicles left the Brooklyn port and started their long journey to Haiti! The SantéBus Bus and two Suburbans have arrived in the Haitian port of St. Marc. Our Regional Director - Haiti Jean-Yvon Kernizan will be picking them up with Sean Penn's Jenkins-Penn Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO) and taking them to the camp in Petitionville. On his most recent trip to Haiti, in early March, Dr. Bonnet had the pleasure of meeting with J/P HRO volunteers, who expressed their urgent need for reliable medical transportation. The J/P HRO Strike Team provides mobile medical services, and is already treating nearly 200 patients every day.

Will write as though I am talking to myself because that is what I do, works well for agreement of ideas. My levity for the day. Early morning rise after little sleep as our SantéBusses didn’t leave Port, that left me going to bed tired.

In NYC 7 am, UN 7:30 lengthy entry. Nice time to observe function and operation of UN. Wonderful, free Malaria exhibit I highly recommend. Waiting period indoors a bit stressful and frustrating needed to practice patience. read more
